New location – Dr. Day Care Central Falls

Central Falls, RI – After many months of planning, construction and licensing, the new Dr. Day Care Learning Center in Central Falls – located at 43 Hawes St. – is now open and enrolling students, six weeks old through Pre-K. To mark this much-anticipated occasion, the new center hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., with the ribbon cutting at 10:00 a.m.

Joining Dr. Day Care CEO Amy Shallcross Vogel for the ceremonial ribbon cutting was Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera, Central Falls Councilwoman Tatiana Baena, Central Falls Director of Parks & Recreation Alberto Rivas, CEO & President of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Liz Catucci and her team, LISC Senior Program Officer Jay O’Grady and the LISC team, Sarah Nardolillo and the Department of Human Services (DHS) team, city council members, state officials, local businesses and community members, and the Dr. Day Care teachers and management team.

CEO Amy Vogel took a moment to thank the YWCA for the opportunity to purchase the building, through a Early Childhood Care and Education Capital Funds grant from LISC in partnership with the Department of Human Services (DHS). Vogel also announced that Dr. Day Care Central Falls recently received word that they have been awarded a RI Pre-K classroom through Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), to be able to offer Central Falls preschool children the opportunity for free high-quality education through a state-wide lottery. Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera, Liz Catucci, CEO & President of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and Jay O’Grady, LISC Senior Program Officer each welcomed Dr. Day Care to the community.
