Thank you to everyone who voted for Dr. Day Care in The Providence Journal’s Readers’ Choice awards! We were honored to receive 3rd place for Preschool and 2nd place for day care.
In January, The Providence Journal held open nominations for the first Readers’ Choice Awards, asking readers to nominate their favorite businesses and organizations in 167 categories. Over 11,200 were nominated, and over 105,000 votes were received. The top five nominees in each category then went on to the voting round in February, with over 386,000 more votes cast. Dr. Day Care was nominated for best day care and best pre-school.

The Providence Journal had no hand in selecting nominees or winners. These are your winners – the ones that you felt deserved to be a Readers’ Choice. In this book, you will find the winners and finalists of your massive effort.
Some of you may be wondering why we did this. The answer is simple. We are a proud supporter of Rhode Island businesses who serve our communities and know that you are, too.
We encourage you to visit and support these businesses, especially those that are local. They are the lifeblood of our communities and directly affect our local economy. Your patronage and support keeps them active and lets them thrive.
Let this book serve as your guide when you need a plumber, a restaurant, a place to have your car serviced or to take your family for some fun, or a shop where you can buy a gift for that special someone. Winners and finalists were given a Readers’ Choice window decal and a plaque or certificate to hang proudly in their businesses.
