Parent-teacher relationships are vital to a child’s success! We communicate and build relationships with our families in a variety of ways. Below are just some of ways that we communicate with you and what you can expect from your child’s time at Dr. Day Care.
Digital daily updates
Hopefully you have already received updates from us about your child’s day! Read more on how to communicate with your child’s center in real time and stay in the loop on upcoming activities at our Parent Communication page.
Social Media
Connect with us to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at our centers, photos of our classrooms, additional resources, and more.
Edgar Express Quarterly Newsletters
Your child’s Administrator will send home updates each season. This quarterly newsletter includes center-wide and classroom updates. Our Founder, Dr. Mary Ann Shallcross Smith often includes contests for parents, so make sure to check that out, too!
Leave a Review
We appreciate all feedback! If there is ever anything we can do to make improvements, email info@drdaycare.com any time. Leave a review on Facebook, Google, Yelp, Winnie, or any other site you trust. For each website where you leave a review, you can receive a $10 tuition credit for your account! (For reviews on Dr. Day Care only, that include the site location that your child attends. Show the review(s) to your Administrator to claim this credit, limit 3 total per family, total $30.00 credit).
Parent Advisory Board
Want to have more input on your child’s center? Feedback or suggestions to make improvements? Help out with our next fundraiser or event? We’d love to have your join our Parent Advisory Board. Talk to your center Administrator for upcoming meeting dates.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Your child’s teacher is constantly monitoring and assessing your child to track developmental progress. Parent-Teacher Conferences are held twice a year to make it easier for teachers and families to develop a mutual understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges, and to share expectations for your child’s development and learning.
Authentic, ongoing assessment is critical to planning appropriate
learning experiences and helping children succeed— in school and in life.
Fundraisers
We hold seasonal fundraisers to help us replenish or replace materials in your child’s classroom. If you have a suggestion on our fundraiser, send it to your Administrator! Details will be distributed by your Administrator as they become available.
