For employees who work in a child care center, there is a new pilot program from DHS.

Eligibility:

  • You are currently working in a DHS licensed child care program at least 20 hours a week
  • You and your child are residents of Rhode Island
  • Your child is a US citizen or qualified immigrant
  • Your child is between ages 6 weeks and 13 years old and resides in your household
  • Your household income is at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Limit

We are excited to announce that this has been extended for another year! The extension will allow for currently approved pilot participants to reapply for an additional 12 months of coverage and for new applicants to apply! Applications will be accepted through July 31, 2025.

Current pilot participants will receive a letter with reapplication instructions, which MUST be completed at least 30 days before any current certification ends to ensure continuous coverage.

DHS is excited to announce the application for the CCAP for Child Care pilot program is now live!
The CCAP (Child Care Assistance Program) for Child Care pilot is a one-year pilot offering CCAP benefits to early childhood educators and staff working in DHS licensed child care programs. The intent of the pilot is to support early educators in accessing child care for their children so they can continue working, without worrying about the cost of child care.

Am I eligible for CCAP for Child Care?
You may be eligible for CCAP for Child Care benefits if:
• You are currently working in a DHS licensed child care program at least 20 hours a week
• You and your child are residents of Rhode Island
• Your child is a US citizen or qualified immigrant
• Your child is between ages 6 weeks and 13 years old and resides in your household

If you believe you meet these qualifications, please submit your application for this pilot.

Already receiving CCAP benefits? You can apply to the pilot to have your copay waived with no other impact to your existing benefits!
